Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition
The Jersey City Dance Academy Dance Team has just completed our third competition for the 2007 season. The team attended Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition on Sunday, March 18th. The competition was held at Beckton Region High School in East Rutherford, NJ. The team once again performed amazingly, competing with over 18 other studios from the tri-state area and as far away as Maryland and Massachusetts. The team performed 16 routines and two were brand new tap numbers: Switch Blade 327 and Drive Like Lightning.
Our itty bitty Divas stole the spot light once again with “My Heart Belongs To Daddy”. They received a High Gold Award and a special judge’s award: The Proud Daddy Award. These 6 little stars will join the rest of the dance team in Copacabana at the next two competitions.
Copacabana, our team’s comic production number once again received a High Gold Award and a special judge’s award for the most entertaining routine. Ramon Stevens, a Elite Diva, received a Platinum Award for his solo, The 5th Coming. He also received a special judge’s award for his performance along with the Sr. Mr. title. Ramon was also invited to perform at the Cathy Roe Ultimate Dance National Competition. The rest of our results for this competition are as follows:

Iris High Silver Our next two competitions are back to back the weekends of April 14th and April 21st. The first competition, Showstoppers will be held in Edison, NJ. This is one of the students’ favorite competitions. Our last competition, Dancers, Inc., will be held in East Rutherford, at the Beckton Regional High School. We hope everyone can attend these last two competitions and support the Dance Team!!
