Congratulations, your child is now on their way to becoming a Dancin= Diva! Being part of the dance team is a great experience and responsibility. There is a significant amount of time and work involved in addition to the financial considerations. The following is an explanation of what is involved in being the parent of a Dancin= Diva.
Practice

1. Practice is mandatory for all Dancin= Divas.
  • Jr. Divas practice every Saturday from 3:00-4:30
  • Sr. Divas practice is every:
  •  i. Wednesday  6:00 to 7:30
    ii. Saturday from 3:00-5:30
  • Additional practices will be scheduled closer to competition dates.
2. If your child can not make a practice please notify the studio and have them catch up on that day=s choreography from another member so the entire group is not affected.
Grades
  1. Students must maintain their school grades. Please notify Jeannette if your child is in danger of failing any subject. They will be suspended from any competition that we have not registered for. If they fail a subject then they may not compete in the next unregistered competition.
Withdrawal
  1. If your child needs to leave the group please give us at least 3 weeks notice to a competition so the team may make the necessary changes. The students are all part of a team and each one is important to the whole! Competition fees are non-refundable no matter what the reason – this includes medical. If your child does not compete, your entry fees, costumes and/or dancewear can not be refunded.
Competitions

  1. A schedule for each competition is sent to the studio one week before the competition. We have no control over this & will not have any information before this time. You will be notified as soon as we get the schedule.
  2. Competitions are normally held on the weekends. They can be on Friday, Saturday & Sunday from as early as 8:00am to as late as 11:00pm. We have no control over the schedule. There is a possibility that the competition can scheduled us in such a way that we can be required to be there all day.
  3. You are responsible for transportation for your child to and from the competitions, food, monitoring them at the competitions and making sure that all necessary items for competition are packed.
  4. All students must remain at the competitions until the Awards are completed. Students that do not remain until their awards are completed will not receive their ribbons and may not compete in the next competition.
Required Classes

  1. Required classes for all Dancin= Divas. Ballet, Jumps & Turns. If they are not currently enrolled in a required class they must enroll now.
Fundraising

  1. A cupcake sale schedule will be distributed. Profits from the cupcake sale are divided between all diva competition fees. If you do not participate in the cupcake sale your child will not be included in the profits.
  2. Various fundraisers will be held throughout the year to help defray the costs of competitions. Only those who participate in the fundraiser will receive money for competition.
Financial Responsibilities

  1. Yearly non-refundable Diva fee of $100.00 payable by October 15th.
  2. Monthly studio use fee: $10.00 (September through May payable the 1st of every month.)
  3. Competition Fees must be paid one month prior to competition. If fees are not paid on time your child will not be registered for the competition and cannot compete. Fees vary by competition but an approximate is as follows:
Solos:      $60-$77
Duet/Trio $60-$70 (divided by members)
Groups:    $18-$27 per entry
We are planning to attend 5 competitions.
  1. Costumes and Shoes must be paid for in full when ordered, no exceptions.
  2. Transportation, food and lodging
  3. Dues: $10.00 weekly per Diva. This is a savings account. This money will be applied to your child=s competition fees only.
  4. All Diva fees must be paid in cash or a check payable to the Dancin’ Divas.
  5. Credit Cards will not be accepted.
